English for Academic Success 15-25-35 (LP3 & 4)

​Supports newcomer students with LP3* or higher who still need intensive academic language and skill development as they continue to work toward high school completion. The basis for this course would be the 3-credit version of CBE’s locally developed course: Academic Achievement through English Language Development. Instruction will focus on the literacy skills required to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in English, science, mathematics, and social studies.

*For more information about Language Proficiency 3 (LP3), talk to your current high school counsellor.​
  • Registration

    Registration details will be provided by your current high school counsellor or junior high school administrator in April 2026. Families will be notified by email the week of June 1 - 5, 2026, as to whether or not they have been enrolled. Students may register for a maximum of one course for Summer School. 

    Due to limited space and resources, only the following students are permitted to register with the CBE for Summer School 2026:
    • ​Current CBE students in Grades 10 - 12
    • Current CBE students in Grade 9 can only register in Mathematics 15​

    We have no capacity to register non-CBE students. Go to Alberta Online Learning for online summer school options.
