​​As families and school staff head off on a well-deserved summer break, here is information on common topics that you may be looking for over the summer. 

For information related to your child’s school, such as the 2026-27 calendar, school supplies, schedule, registration, or transportation, visit the Back-to-School page on your child’s school website (coming in July). 

To determine your child’s designated school and find their school website, use the Find-a-School tool.

First Day of School of the 2026-2027 School Year

Classes begin on Monday, August 31.

New Student Registration or Transfer Requests

Important Note: Most school offices are closed over the summer and reopen in late August. Requests submitted in July or August will be processed when staff return on Wednesday, August 26. 

Overflow Schools

When a regular program school reaches its capacity, all new registrations are capped, and an overflow school is established. You can find out if your child’s designated school has an overflow school on the Overflow Schools page.

MyCBE Account

MyCBE provides parents, students and staff access to information and transactions. To access your child’s MyCBE account, you’ll need their CBE ID number, which can be found beside their report card, on their student ID card or in SchoolEngage.

MyCBE gives online access to:

  • view your children’s academic information (schedule, grades and attendance)
  • view your children’s learning activities using Brightspace by D2L
  • register for transportation and noon supervision
  • pay fees and request fee waivers
  • book school conferences

SchoolMessenger a​​​​nd Text Communication

We use SchoolMessenger to securely send you news, announcements, student absence notifications, and more, using the email address and phone number on file with your school. If your contact information changes, or you think messages aren’t getting through to you, please inform your school. 

To make sure you get important messages related to things like fun lunches, school pictures, or off-site activities, you need to subscribe for commercial messages. Learn how on our school messages page.

If your child is new to the CBE or if you have recently changed your phone number, you will receive a text (SMS) message from 978338 asking if you would like to receive Calgary Board of Education alerts. This message is safe and sent for your protection. 

Report Cards

Report cards for the 2025-26 school year are available from June 25 – July 31, 2026 through MyCBE. After July 31, report cards will no longer be available.

Outstanding Fees

Before the school year ends, please review and pay outstanding school fee balances through MyCBE. Any outstanding fees may be sent to collections if unpaid after 180 days. Families requiring support can consider applying for payment plans or fee waivers.

Lunch Supervision (Grades 1-6)

Register for Lunch Supervision service for the 2026–2027 school year through MyCBE. Registration for Kindergarten families will open by the end of August 2026.

Apply for Transportation

CBE Transportation continues to accept applications for transportation services. Students will added to the closest existing stop with available space. Due to volume, processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year.
Families are responsible for transportation until their registration is confirmed.

Route information for families who applied by the June deadline can expect route information in MyCBE later in August.
