As we move into the final month of the school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to families across the Calgary Board of Education.
This has been a year marked by connection — between students and teachers, between schools and families, and across the many communities that make up our public education system. These relationships are the foundation of student success. When we work together, incredible things happen.
In classrooms, on fields and stages, and in countless everyday moments, we've seen students grow in confidence and capability. Families have been part of that journey every step of the way —building strong partnerships with schools.
As we look ahead, these connections will continue to guide our work. They create welcoming, inclusive spaces where every student feels a sense of belonging.
To all the families heading into summer, thank you for all the ways you've supported learning this year. And, to those continuing to learn over the summer months — including students in summer programs — your dedication is truly valued.
Thank you for being part of the CBE community. This has been a remarkable year of learning and growth, and I look forward to what we'll build together next.
With gratitude,
Joanne Pitman
Chief Superintendent
