Job Seekers Invited to Apply for More than 150 Casual Positions; Lunch Supervisor and Education Assistant Roles in High Demand for 2022-23 School Year
Today, the Calgary Board of Education issued a call to hire more than 150 positions —as part of a significant effort to bolster its casual employee rosters.
Prospective CBE employees can now apply for one of 100 lunch supervisor or 50 education assistant positions in special settings. Both roles offer a competitive hourly rate, flexible working hours and room for career advancement.
“We are looking for people who are passionate about schools and who want to make a difference in the lives of students every day,” said Karey Reilly, director, Talent Management. “As a system, we support students with a wide array of complex needs. Join us to be part of a world-class education system where employees are highly valued and recognized as the driving force behind student success.”
Successful hires will join a team of on-call staff who cover staff absences and work on short-term projects. Roster staff enjoy the flexibility of working in schools and departments full-time or part-time with a minimum commitment of two days availability per week.
Lunch Supervisor Priyanka Goyal described her time at the CBE as an “amazing experience” from day one.
“I went through a simple but professional recruitment process and had incredible support from the HR team throughout the entire process,” said Goyal. “Working at CBE is comparable to being a part of a family where everyone supports and trusts one another. Benefits of working at CBE include, but are not limited to, flexible working hours, competitive wages, and valuable training.
Overall, working at CBE is a very rewarding experience and a fantastic opportunity.”
The hiring period runs for almost the entire month of June. Interviews will take place over the course of two days: June 29 for education assistants and July 6 for lunch supervisors.
