CBE Board approved modular classroom plan

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, the CBE Board of Trustees approved the 2015-16 Modular Classroom Plan. The plan identifies CBE priorities for new modular classrooms according to new ranking criteria approved by the Board.

The CBE is required to submit annually its plans for new schools, modernization projects and modular classrooms to the provincial government. This year, school boards were asked to assign priorities to requests for modular classrooms.

The Board of Trustees considered Eligibility Filters for Modular Classrooms and Modular Classroom Ranking Criteria at the public board meeting on Oct. 14, 2014. These filters and ranking criteria have been used to develop the CBE’s modular classroom priorities.

The request will now be submitted to the Province of Alberta before Nov. 3, 2014 for consideration. Should the Province approve these requests by February 2015, there should be sufficient time for the units to be constructed, delivered and set-up in time for the 2015-16 school year.
